Go back to control panel and open up indexing, you should now be able to modifyīit long winded but as I said this method did work for me, Wish you luck, manifold errors with Windows 8.1, most of them fixable. Reboot again and go to indexing it should now be starting to rebuild your index files, leave it alone until it says indexing complete, then yet another reboot.

Then start it up go back to my pc and recheck the boxes you unchecked to restore the indexing Reboot and leave your system off for about 10 mins. then reboot, go to indexing in control panel and if it doesn't sayĠ files indexed go to advanced and click on delete and rebuild the index. Go to my pc right click on each of you drives in turn, go to properties uncheck the bottom square for the indexing, press apply wait while it unindexs your drive, do this with all your drives. Here is the solution that worked for me, its a bit of a grind but it works. HI, yes I had the same issue, you can't modify indexing to change the places indexed, although the advanced tools work and you can rebuild the index.
